A new deli and market is now open on Pittsburgh’s North Side, from the owners of one of Pittsburgh’s best-loved brands.
The team behind Gilligan’s Sorbet opened Mayfly Market & Deli opened in October on Arch Street, selling fruits, vegetables, baked goods, grocery staples (canned goods, dry goods, and household items), milk, eggs, meat, cheese, bread, coffee and more. At the deli counter, you’ll find a fantastic selection of soups and salads, courtesy of the team from North Side’s Lola Bistro. Their menu includes hearty soups like Indian Dal and classic Tomato Basil, plus a variety of fresh salads. On the sandwich board, you’ll find creations like roast beef with shallot-lavender aioli, Tarragon chicken salad with celery and grapes, an Italian hoagie with Genoa salami, capicola, and house-pickled peppers, and Ancho pulled pork, topped with spice sage slaw.
The market’s shelves are stocked with local products, including selections from Commonplace Coffee, Leona’s Ice Cream Sandwiches, Pittsburgh Pickle Co., Pigeon Bagels, Breadworks, Black Market Jerky, Rolling Pepperoni, Windswept Farms Honey, Turners Dairy, La Prima Coffee and (of course) Gilligan’s Sorbet, too.
Mayfly Market & Deli is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm.
