If you’re a fan of Kombucha, and are interested in learning more about how the drink is created, you’re in luck.
The Pittsburgh Juice Company is hosting their second annual “Kombucha Class” on Sunday, July 9 at 10:30 a.m. This class with give guests the chance to try kombucha brewing themselves, as well as learn more about the symbiotic ‘colony’ of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY) that ferment the tea.
For those who don’t know, Kombucha is a fermented and effervescent tea drink, commonly consumed for health benefits. The drink is produced by fermenting tea using bacteria and yeast.
The class will educate on general kombucha care and maintenance, and conclude with a Q&A session with Pittsburgh Juice Company owner and brewer, Naomi Homison.
Tickets are $25 pre-sale, and $30 at the door. The ticket includes the kombucha demo, light vegan bites from PJC, many kombucha sample, and a SCOBY with DIY instructions to take home.
