Talia Cucina & Rosticceria, located in the Alcoa building on Sixth Avenue, is a modern contemporary Italian cuisine with traditional Italian recipes. Chef Steve Lanzilotti who worked at Valozzi’s before taking over as chef of Talia, presents a modern Italian restaurant with a more casual and relaxed vibe.
Chef Lanzilotti’s commitment to traditional Italian dishes is what makes Talia a must try restaurant in Downtown Pittsburgh. Talia is known for their rotisserie style food, the Porchetta and family style dishes, including Cache e Pepe, one of their famous pasta dishes. For Chef Lanzilotti, it is all about “keeping food simple. You can come up with all kinds of food with funky techniques. There is a time and place for that in cooking, but when it comes down to it, having nice quality food and simple preparations to keep the spotlight on those ingredients is what keeps the customers coming back.”
Talia will be hosting some upcoming events this October. On Thursday, October 25, Talia will be hosting the Italian Regional Wine Dinner. The seven-course meal will be traveling down Italy, starting in Trentino and ending in Sicily. Each meal will be paired with a wine from that region as well. It is a private event and tickets are on sale online. Hurry though, as there is limited seating for this exciting event!
Talia will also be hosting a Halloween party on October 31. The party is being hosted by Women Who Whisky, and all proceeds will be donated. So, if you have no plans or are simply sick of handing out candy, join Women Who Whisky at Talia Cucina & Rosticceria for a night of Halloween fun!
Chef Lanzilotti will also be taking part in Best Buddies: Tastebuds, a huge event taking place at the David L. Lawrence Convention center on Monday November 5. The unique tasting event will host some of Pittsburgh’s most known Chefs and an open bar with silent and live auctions.
