If it’s going to be your last meal of the year, it better be a good one – right? We’ve rounded up all of the best New Year’s Eve events and dinners in Pittsburgh. If you want to go, make your reservations now, because these tend to fill up quickly!
DiAnoia’s Eatery
On New Year’s Eve, DiAnoia’s Eatery is hosting a prix-fixe Sunday brunch. The menu is $35 per person, and includes a Mimosa or Bloody Mary, a choice of an appetizer, a choice of an entrée, and coffee and Italian cookies. Reservations can be made online.

The Commoner
Ring in the New Year at the Commoner. They’ll be serving their regular a la carte menu, with some special additions. Guests will also receive a complimentary Champagne toast at midnight.

Smallman Galley
Smallman Galley and Duncan St. Dinners are teaming up for a four-course New Year’s Eve Dinner. The menu includes:
- First Course: Pig Ear Sauerkraut Salad (crispy pig ear, house sauerkraut, plum, salt potato and plum jam)
- Second Course: Shrimp with prosciutto, cucumber, white onion, toasted rice and a brunt orange vinaigrette
- Third Course: Pork Tenderloin with beet mustard, Montreal-seasoned potatoes with boursin-whipped sour cream, cotija and herb-roasted cauliflower
- Dessert: Champagne Olive Oil Cake with Champagne-marinated strawberry and brown sugar whipped sour cream
Tickets are $95 per person, and can be purchased online. Guests who purchase dinner tickets will also receive a 20% discount on tickets to the Federal Galley’s Brew Year’s Eve (see below).

The newly-opened Federal Galley is taking over the hosting duties for the Smallman Galley’s annual Brew Year’s Eve event. Tickets are $75 dollars, and includes unlimited pours from a lineup of 25 craft beers from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Tickets can be purchased online.

Legume
Legume is hosting a special New Year’s Eve dinner with decadent additions to their regular menu, including Surf & Turf, Chocolate Truffle Cake, and their famous Lobster Ravioli. The Oakland restaurant will also offer vegetarian and fish options, too. Reservations are open throughout the night, and can be made online.

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Cure in Lawrenceville with 6-course prix fixe meal. Seats are $125 per person, and the menu (available online) includes 20-month old house-made ham, Charcoal-roasted Berkshire Pork, and Chocolate Soufflé Cake.

Scratch Food & Beverage
Scratch is serving a four-course menu with wine and cocktail pairings on New Year’s Eve. Enjoy three courses and a dessert for $80 per person, including tax and gratuity. The restaurant is also offering an optional wine pairing for an additional $20. Reservations may be made online, and vegetarian options are available with notice.

or, The Whale and Evangeline are hosting quite the New Year’s Eve celebration, with two seatings for an extravagant dinner – one at 5:00 p.m., and one at 7:30 p.m., and a separate New Year’s Eve party starting at 10:00 p.m.
The five-course dinner option in or, The Whale’s main dining room is $135 per person, and will feature dishes such as Trout Rillete, Crab and Champagne Bisque, Surf & Turf with dry-aged braised short rib and butter-poached lobster tail, and Chocolate Entremet.
Starting at 10:00 p.m., tickets are available for a New Year’s Eve Shindig, featuring oysters, caviar, chowder and more. Tickets are $150 per person, and include five drinks, plus a Champagne toast at midnight, along with food stations, including an oyster cart, crudo station, caviar station, and three types of chowder.

Acorn is offering a seasonally-inspired six-course prix fixe dinner to ring in the New Year. The Shadyside restaurant will offer two dinner seatings: one at 5:30/6:00 p.m., and one at 8:00/8:30 p.m. Seats are $75 per person for dinner. The menu includes Squid Ink Cannaroni with lobster, preserved lemon, watercress and uni brown butter, Rohan Duck roasted with pine, juniper, coix seed, blood orange and prune, and Chocolate Huckleberries and Foie Gras ice cream topped with smoked sea salt. To celebrate the New Year, Casbah is hosting a four-course dinner for $75 per person. Each course includes an option such as Tuna Tartar or Duck Breast Ravioli, Chilean Sea Bass or Beef Short Rib, or Chocolate Tiramisu Cheesecake or Red Velvet Shortbread. Reservations may be made online, and an optional wine pairing is available for an additional $35 fee.

Spork
Spork will be serving a five-course menu on New Year’s Eve, with a vegetarian option available. Seats are $100 per person, with an optional $40 wine pairing addition. The menu is available online, and includes selections such as Sweet Potato Gnocchi with walnuts and Castelmongo fondue, Jumbo Lump Crab Soufflé, and Chocolate Orange Bombe with tangerine confit.

Six Penn Kitchen’s $85 per person five-course dinner includes indulgent dishes such as a choice of Maine Lobster or Duck Tasso, plus options like Sea Scallops, Cider-braised Pork Belly, and Foie Gras Risotto. Go all out at The Vandal’s New Year’s Eve dinner, with 10 courses from chef Csilla Thackray, plus drink pairings for $150 per person. This super-small celebration (only 28 seats are available!) is reservation-only, which can be made by calling 412-616-1212.

Downtown’s Revel & Roost is celebrating New Year’s Eve with two levels of fun. Tickets are $50 per person online, and $75 at the door, and include two hours of an open bar from 10:00 p.m. to midnight. Additionally, the restaurant is also hosting a prix fixe dinner for $150 per person, which includes dinner, reserved seating, and admission to the NYE celebration. Tickets can be purchased online.

Muddy Waters Oyster Bar
Muddy Waters is hosting a New Year’s Eve Bubbles and Oyster Party starting at 10:00 p.m. Seats are $75 per person, and include two glasses of sparkling wine, and unlimited access to select East and West Coast oysters. Plus, the kitchen will be open until midnight for a la carte menu ordering. Reservations can be made online.
Muddy Waters Oyster Bar (130 S. Highland Avenue)
Il Tetto
Enjoy a downtown rooftop party at Il Tetto in Sienna Mercato. Starting at 8:00 p.m., the rooftop bar will host a New Year’s Eve party with a hor d’oeuvres buffet, midnight Champagne toast, and free party favors. General admission tickets are $150 per person, and include guaranteed entry with standing room only, five drink tickets and hor d’oeuvres. Reserved seating tickets are $200 per person, and include seating at a beer hall table or banquette, five drink tickets, and a hot and cold hor d’oeuvres buffet from Mezzo.

The menu includes Pork Belly & Slaw, Burrata Salad, Hay-fired Strip Loin, and Blueberry and Lemon Shortcake Trifle for dessert, and the beer list features Spoonwood Brewing favorites like Elise, Bruna and Shadowgraff.
