Jamison Farm began in 1985 in Latrobe, PA, when Sukey and John Jamison started a farm business with two mortgages, three kids, and no job.
They started raising lambs on grass and developed a mail order business. Today, Jamison Farm Lamb is a staple on the menus of the best restaurants in the country. In their new book, Coyotes in the Pasture and Wolves at the Door, John & Sukey share this story.Â
To celebrate the release of the book, John & Sukey Jamison are heading to Mystery Lovers Bookshop in Oakmont this Friday to host a ‘Talk, Taste & Sign.’
The free event will feature a talk with John and Sukey, samples of ‘Sukey’s Lamb and Barley Soup’, and the opportunity to have John and Sukey sign your copy of the book.Â
“I first heard about John & Sukey’s book at an event in Oakmont in September of 2018,” says Kristy Bodnar, co-owner of Mystery Lovers Bookshop. “The Jamisons had five minutes to speak, and in that five minute window I was immediately struck by their story.”
The book is part memoir, part cookbook, and John and Sukey will discuss their journey to farming and share stories and anecdotes. It is available for purchase for $35 in-store and online.Â
The event is on Friday, May 10, at 7:00 p.m.
There will also be an olive oil and bread tasting from Oakmont Olive Oil Company
