On Friday, October 26, Spirit is hosting a benefit dinner in Ian Brill’s Light Installation VAULT 3.0 to raise funds for their soon-to-come rooftop garden.
The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. in Spirit’s Community Garden, with local fire-roasted pumpkin and Calkins Creamery Brie flatbreads, sparkling wine cocktails, and live music.
After the first course, guests will head indoors, and will enjoy a five-course, farm-to-table dinner inside VALUT 3.0, a light installation exhibit by Brill, a local visual artist. The dinner is a full sensory-immersive experience, with chefs, bartenders and local musicians collaborating on music, drinks and food pairings throughout the night. Participating chefs and bartenders include Becca Hegarty of the Bitter Ends Garden & Luncheonette, Brandon Blumenfeld of Scratch, and Greg Austin of Spirit, and drink partners include Allegheny Wine Mixer, Parking Chair Vodka, and Angel’s Envy Whiskey. Live music pairings from local musicians like Patrick Breiner and Josh Barnes will also be incorporated into each course.
All proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Rooftop Garden Project, and tickets can be purchased online for $125 per person, or $175 with drink pairings. The Rooftop Garden Project launched in June 2018 via ioby, in an effort to raise funds for a garden that would not only be used to provide fresh herbs for Spirit’s pizza, but as a way for the restaurant and event space to collaborate with local chefs, bartenders, farmers, educators and artists. Since launching, the fund has raised more than $10,000 of the $50,000 needed to complete the first phase of the project.
