There’s a new Mad Mex in town!
The popular Pittsburgh restaurant chain is opening their newest location in the Waterworks Shopping Plaza in Fox Chapel – and it’s happening soon!
The doors to the restaurant will officially open on Monday, December 3 at 11:00 a.m.
Diners can expect the same “funky fresh Cal-Mex” dishes that make Mad Mex so beloved in Pittsburgh, including offering a massive menu of burritos, tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, quesadillas, salads, wings, and wraps. And yes, there will be plenty of margaritas as part of the restaurant’s full bar, with more than a dozen margarita flavors, like Black Cherry, Mango, Cranberry, Spicy Jalapeno, and Rosemary Pear.
Like other Mad Mex restaurants, this location will also feature local artwork, including a mosaic in the bar by Elizabeth Laing-Klevens, and art on the host stand by Rich Bach. About half of the seats in the restaurant will be in an enclosed patio area, which will feature large garage doors to let in sunshine.
The restaurant will be located on the eastern end of the Waterworks Shopping Plaza near the Fox Chapel Road at 1041 Freeport Road, with easy access from Aspinwall, Sharpsburg and O’Hara Township.
This opening marks the Big Burrito Restaurant Group’s ninth Pittsburgh location for the restaurant chain. There are also Mad Mex locations in Philadelphia, Erie and Happy Valley.
