It’s the stuff that Pittsburgh dreams are made of.
After a year away, the Pittsburgh Pierogi Festival is coming back on Sunday, September 24, and this year, the event will take place at Kennywood Park.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gretchen McKay reports that more than 40 vendors will be at the festival, including The Pittsburgh Pierogi Truck, Superior Motors, The Coop Chicken & Waffles, Hough’s Taproom, Pittsburgh Po’Boy, and Pizza Boat by Spirit. And, they’ll all be bringing some seriously tasty pierogies… and pierogi-inspired dishes.
From the Post-Gazette:
Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream will offer pierogi-inspired flavors, and Happy Camper Cakes will sell playful pierogi-inspired cupcakes such as The Masked Pierogi, a brown sugar potato cake filled with salted caramel and topped with chocolate ganache and potato chip dust.
Voodoo Brewery is the official beer vendor for the festival, and will be pouring drafts all day long.
The festival, which runs from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., will also feature a marketplace with pierogi-inspired products, and family-friendly activities, including access to several of Kennywood’s rides.
Tickets are $24 for adults and $12 for children ages 3 to 12, and are available online. Food and drinks are pay-as-you-go.

Can’t afford to go. 😔 Cost to get in and then hav e to pay for the food is too much.
Someone was not thinking here.

I completely forgot to agree. I wouldn’t mind paying for the entrance fee, if you could sample. Free
Richie says
$24 for what ? What does $24 get you ?
Kyla says
Not saying it’s much… But let’s you on the various rides open at the park for the day and access to a few games.
Patrick says
$24 to get in so 2 adults and 1 child is $60
And then you walk around and buy pierogies and beer? I’m guessing $8 to $12 per plate at vendors and $10 beers so over $125 to get pierogies for the family?? And a beer or 2 for dad…thats nonsense
K Davis says
I completely agree with you. Not clear on what the admission gets you other than access to the park. It is priced out of our budget as well. It’s a shame. I do understand that events like this do cost to bring to market. Perhaps a corporate sponser or two would be the better way to go. But that’s just my 2 cents worth on that subject.

Can’t wait to go!
