Federal Galley is giving Pittsburghers a new option for outdoor drinking – and it’s happening sooner than you might think.
On Saturday, April 14, the North Side food hall is hosting a launch party for its soon-to-open beer garden, which will offer 70 seats in the space in front of the restaurant, and an additional 30 seats in the back.
The beer garden will feature communal seating and a mobile bar with beer and canned wine, along with additional “pouched” cocktails that are only available on the patio. Keeping with the theme of Federal Galley’s pop culture-inspired cocktail menus, the beer garden’s inaugural list is a nod toward 90’s-era Might Morphin Power Rangers. Look for the ‘Kimberly Hart,’ made with rosé vodka, aperol, grapefruit, vanilla, peychaud’s bitters, and the ‘Billy Cranston,’ with cachaça, blue curacao, banana, coconut, orange, angostura bitters as two of the top offerings.
The new beer garden, which is within walking distance to both PNC Park and Heinz Field, will also offer the Federal Galley’s full tap list, and guests are welcome to order food from one of the food hall’s four restaurant concepts (Detroit-style pizza from Michigan & Trumbull, contemporary Mexican cuisine from El Lugar, classic American offerings from Provision PGH and New American cuisine from Supper) and enjoy their meals outside.
Additionally, the space will feature live music every Thursday from artists from around the city.
Oh, and one more thing – the new beer garden space is dog-friendly, too.
The launch party on April 14 starts at 7:00 p.m., and is open to the public. No tickets or RSVP is required.
