Though the weather may not agree, September means it’s time for fall! Pull out your flannel and get ready for everything pumpkin-related, because we’ve found over 55 (!) fall festivals in and around Pittsburgh that you don’t want to miss.

ZooBrew: Oktoberfest
September 7
Craft beer at the zoo? Yes please! Guests are invited spend an evening at the Pittsburgh Zoo enjoying craft breweries, live entertainment, and food. Sample over 45 craft beers and wander around the park to see the animals. All guests receive a souvenir sampling mug. This is a 21+ event.
Old Fashioned Fall Festival and Yard Sale

The Little Beaver Historical Society is encouraging everyone to come visit Darlington to welcome the Fall season. The Old Fashioned Fall Festival will feature crafts people, fall flowers, food and the annual yard sale event. More information can be found online.
Quilt Show at Saxonburg Art Festival
September 8-9
There will be a quilt show at the Saxonburg Art Festival at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church on September 8 and 9. The show will feature over 50 quilts, and visitors will be able to vote on their favorite one. There will also be vendors, a silent auction, tickets for a homemade quilt, and the opportunity to learn more about charitable quilting outreach programs.
Sewickley Harvest Festival

It’s almost time to kickoff to Fall in Sewickley! The 28th annual Harvest Festival will be held on September 8 and feature food, live entertainment, vendors, kids’ activities, arts & crafts and much more! The village of Sewickley will be bustling with visitors, merchant sidewalk vendors, and plenty of fall-themed events. Don’t miss this fun weekend in the village! .
Covered Bridge Festival
September 15-16
Fall is the perfect time to visit our region’s beautiful covered bridges. The historic Meadowcroft Rockshelter is inviting guests to explore their beautiful Pine Bank Covered Bridge, which was constructed in 1871. In honor of the festival, tours of the Rockshelter are $5 per person.
Pours & S’mores at The Abbey on Butler Street
September 14
Devils Backbone beer is hosting a beer and s’mores party at The Abbey on Butler Street. Usher in fall by making artisanal s’mores with us over an open flame. The s’mores will have Devils Backbone beer pairings.
Fall Wine Festival
September 15-16
Stone Villas Fall Wine Festival is returning with live music, games, and tons of wine. Bands including Told Ya So Back In Time will perform, and food will be available for purchase both days by LL Kuhn Catering. Guests have a chance to win a Stone Villa Wine Basket. Play Bocce and Cornhole outside while sipping your wine and listening to music.
Scottdale Fall Festival 2018
September 21-23
Scottdale, located 49 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, is hosting their annual fall festival on September 21st. This festival is well worth the drive and will feature handmade crafts, foods to suit all palates, a parade, dog show, 10K / 5K race, children’s area, and a full schedule of live entertainment.

Mt. Oliver Fall Fest

Fall Spectacular Food Truck Festival

The Community Life Center in Chippewa is hosting a family friendly event with food trucks, 60+ vendors, and children’s activities. All festivities will be located within a one block walking area along Darlington Alley, which will be closed to vehicles for this event.
Soergel’s Fall Festival

Soergel’s celebrates the season with six weekends of fall festivals! Each weekend will feature food from Sorgel’s BBQ and food bar (including roasted corn while supplies last), as well as desserts from their Sweet Saloon. There will also be hayrides, a pumpkin patch, kettle corn, pick your own apples, face painting, games, and so much more! Freedom Farm’s Maized & Confused

Zombies of the Corn

Forget about your zombie video games – Zombies of the Corn in Freedom, PA, brings zombie nightmares to life. This ride takes guests on through a haunted corn maze on a truck loaded up with paintball guns. Guests shoot at zombies as they pop up from the maze. 24 people can fit on the truck at a time, and it is a fun family activity. Braddock Farms Harvest Festival

Braddock Farms is celebrating the end of season with a harvest festival! Tour the farm, compete in the “Farm Olympics,” paint pumpkins, make corn husk dolls, and more. Trax Farm Fall Festival

North Strabane Bonfire and Hayride at Simmons Farm
September 29
Head to the annual Fall Bonfire at Hayride at Simmons Farm for fall fun! Guests will enjoy a hayride to and from the pavilion where they can play on a fire truck, go down the slide, get lost in the corn maze, decorate pumpkins and much more! The festival is FREE for North Strabane residents and $12 for non-residents. You MUST pre-register and registration is limited to 245 people.
Freedom Farms Fall Festival

Every weekend this October, Freedom Farms is inviting everyone to the farm for fun autumn activities like hayrides, pony rides, face painting, a hay maze, contests, corn pit, hay mountain, and much more. DogtoberFEST is is an animal adoption event held annually at The Waterfront. This celebration of adoption has been held the first weekend of October since 2010.
Hickory Apple Festival

The 35th annual Hickory Apple Festival has all the fall essentials – and then some. Get ready for a pie eating contest, a petting zoo, cloggers, and live music. Bedford Fall Foliage Festival

2018 marks the 54th Annual Fall Foliage Festival in downtown Bedford, Pennsylvania. Bedford’s Fall Foliage Festival offers crafts, art, music, and fellowship in the crisp mountains of central Pennsylvania. Guests can shop and explore various artists working with mediums like Woodcraft, Pottery and Glass, Repurpose, Industrial, Antiques, Jewelry, Decor, and Blacksmith. Delmont Apple ‘n Arts Festival

Get excited for apple cider! Take a beautiful drive to Delmont, PA, for their annual Apple ‘n Arts Festival. There will be crafters, food vendors, a train, barnyard petting zoo, and pony rides. The highlight of the festival is a 1907 antique apple press making 5,000 of fresh-pressed gallons of apple cider – this machine only runs once a year during the festival. The Hydref- a Fall Festival & Market Faire

Travel through time for “The Hydref,” a fall festival hosted by the Depreciation Lands Museum. Guests will enjoy 18th century crafts people, re-enactors, and “sutlers”, purveyors of 18th century goods. There will be entertainment, demonstrations, live music, children’s activities, and tons of delicious food. Activities include fresh cider making and wool dyeing & spinning.
Hydref means “autumn”, in Welsh. The festival was named to commemorate the Welsh heritage of some of the area’s early settlers. This event will be held rain or shine and there will be plenty of hot homemade food and activities for everyone!

The Beaver County Historical Research and Landmarks Foundation is hosting local speakers to tell tales of reportedly haunted local sites. Topics include: “Spiritual Approach to Ghost Hunting” and “Legends and Lores.” Donations are appreciated for this event.
Eerie Horror Film Festival

Things are getting eerie in Erie! Held every year around Halloween, this festival is a celebration of independent cinema. In addition to workshops and screenings, there is competitive film event with open entry. The festival accepts film and screenplays from all around the world. Pumpkin Spice Ligonier

Head to Ligonier to taste over a dozen pumpkin-flavored recipes! Every item at the festival will be made by a local restaurants/organizations. This event will take place inside of Ligonier’s charming and unique shops.
The Annual Fall Craft Show

For the third year in a row, Greenhouse Winery is hosting a fall craft show. For this event, dozens of vendors will be set up in the winery to showcase their various crafts. Guests can expect jewelry, clothing, beauty products, makeup, and more unique gifts.
