National Meatball Day at Emporio: A Meatball Joint
Celebrate National Meatball Day at Emporio. Starting at 11:00 a.m., every guest will get a free meat ball when they dine-in at both locations, and their downtown location will host a happy hour from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with 96.1 KISS, raffles, specials and more.
Relish Co. Cupcake Flight Night
Bloomfield’s Relish is hosting a Cupcake Flight Night starting at 6:00 p.m. Guests are invited to sample a variety of vegan desserts, including Butter Pecan Cupcakes, Lavender Vanilla Cupcakes, Blueberry Creme cupcakes, Salted Pretzel Dark Chocolate cupcakes and Creme Brulee. Tickets are $45 per person.
The Comedian & The Poet Open Night Mic at the Abbey on Butler
From 9:00 p.m. to midnight, the Abbey on Butler is hosting an open mic night, featuring poet Grits Capone and comedian Tyler Ray Kendrick. Signups for performers will begin at 8:30 p.m., and there will be drink and food specials all evening long.
Pancakes & Pajamas at Wigle WhiskeyÂ
Spend your Friday night at Wigle’s distillery to celebrate the release of their Maple Liqueur. Threadbare Cider & Mead’s executive chef Jay Wess will be flipping pay-as-you-go pancakes starting at 6:00 p.m., and you can pair them with maple syrup from Rivendale Farms and a special maple bacon cocktail. Swedish Easter Paskbord Buffet at IKEA
IKEA in Robinson Township is hosting a Swedish Easter Paskbord buffet, filled with traditional Swedish dishes, like Swedish meatballs, smoked salmon, assorted Swedish cheeses and desserts. More information can be found online.
Tea Mythology Class at Blue Monkey Tea Shop
Head to Blue Monkey Tea Shop for a unique tea event, all about Pu-Erh, a type of tea from Yunnan China. Through a special aging process in a cellar, this tea gains a unique flavor. The event will feature a special guest speaker, and samples of Pu-Erh will be served. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online.
Wine and Cheese Night at The Winery at Wilcox
The Winery at Wilcox at Settler’s Ridge is hosting a wine and cheese night, with five cheeses paired with five different wines throughout the event. Each ticket is $25 per person, and reservations can be made by calling 412-490-9590.
Saturday, March 10
Food Truck-a-Palooza at the Monroeville Convention Center
More than 30 food trucks will be gathering at the Moneroeville Convention Center this Saturday for a full day of fun (and food) at the winter Food Truck-a-Palooza. Tickets to the event are $10 each online and $15 at the door, and food is pay-as-you-go.
Maple Festival at Threadbare Cider
It’s maple season at Threadbare Cider! Join them for a Maple Festival, with maple syrup samples from regional farms, a 1:00 p.m. maple sugaring demonstration, lots of vendors selling maple products, live music, and samples of Maple Barrel Aged beer from Full Pint Brewing. Wise County Biscuits at Black Forge Coffee House
Black Forge Coffee House is hosting a brunch with local biscuit favorite Wise County Biscuits from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. They’ll be serving breakfast sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, and more. And if you miss them on Saturday, Wise County will be at Coffee Buddha on Sunday morning.
Sausage from Start to Finish at Chatham University
Chatham University is hosting a sausage workshop that will teach attendees about the many different types of sausage and its production. Tickets are $50 per participant, and can be purchased online.

‘Deeply Rooted’ Viewing Party and Red Beans & Rice Dinner
Slow Food Pittsburgh is hosting a viewing party of the Emmy-nominated ‘Deeply Rooted’ documentary at the Woodridge Condominium Association. The movie shares the story of an heirloom seed saver and master gardener who has been collecting seeds and history from Louisiana farmers for more than 50 years.
