This news is definitely a big dill: Picklesburgh is returning to Pittsburgh on July 26 – 28, 2019!
The beloved festival is now in its fifth year, and features everything (and we mean everything) pickle-related. We’re talking pickle ice cream. Pickle on a stick. Pickle cupcakes. Pickle cookies. Pickle Juice Soda. Pickle cocktails. Pickle dogs. Pickle Funnel Cake. And much, much more.
In more exciting news, the festival is expanding this year to provide a better experience for attendees. For 2019, the Picklesburgh footprint will double, including both the Roberto Clemente Bridge, and the riverside lanes of Ft. Duquesne Boulevard between Stanwix and 7th Streets
According to their website, “The festival expansion is intended to allow for larger vendor spaces, easier access to the diverse range of products and many free samples.”
An official vendor list for 2019 is yet to be announced, but in 2018, vendors included:
Bae Bae’s Kitchen
Chocolate Moonshine Co.
Coop de Ville
Fabulous Homemade Cookies
Gosia’s Pierogies
Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop
Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream
Pittsburgh Pickle Co.
Superior Motors
+ many more
Vendor applications for the 2019 festival are still open.
And, of course, the iconic 35-foot inflatable Heinz Pickle balloon will once again return to the bridge for the event. Entertainment for Picklesburgh includes a Pickle Juice Drinking Contest, live music, and more!
In March of this year, the festival was named the “best specialty food festival” in North America by USA Today’s “Readers’ Choice” contest, beating out 19 other food festival competitors, including the Kentucky Bourbon Festival and the Baltimore Mac and Cheese Festival.
This event it hosted by the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership. More information can be found online.
