This Saturday, April 22, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the East End Food Co-op is hosting “Springfest,” an Earth day celebration benefiting 412 Food Rescue
The event is family-friendly and includes a photo booth, face painting, children’s activities, and live music provided. There will also be an auction with prizes donated by local businesses and arts organizations.
The menu for the event will feature vegan and vegetarian items from the East End Food Co-op Café, as well as appetizers and snacks donated by local vendors, partners, and select Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurants.
There will also be an array of desserts, including a sundae bar with ice cream from Pittsburgh Ice Cream Company, and homemade toppings by Chef Trevett Hooper of Legume Bistro.
There will also be non-alcoholic drinks, locally-roasted coffee from 19 Coffee Co., fair trade tea, wine and craft beers provided by East End Brewing Company.
Tickets for the event are $20 for adults, $15 for adult members of the co-op, and $5 for children, and include:
- Food
- Drinks
- Activities
- One complimentary raffle ticket
- Two complimentary drink tickets (for adults age 21+)
Proceeds from the event benefit 412 Food Rescue, a Pittsburgh non-profit that saves healthy food that would otherwise be thrown away and donates it to those in need.
