A new Southern-style restaurant has just opened in Bloomfield!
Sugar and Smoke is now open at 4428 Liberty Avenue, in the space that once housed Del’s Bar & Ristorante.
Restaurateur Andrea Robinson opened the restaurant yesterday, serving signature Southern dishes for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. Running the kitchen is chef Charles “Chaz” Smith, from the former Chaz & Odette, who will use “locally-sourced ingredients to prepare modern spins on down-home favorites.”
The extensive menu features starters like Fried Green Tomatoes with Remoulade, Cajun Hush Puppies, and Shrimp with house seasoning and ‘Sugar and Smoke’ sauce. Soups and Salads include a She Crab Bisque and house-made Gumbo, and the menu features a number of sandwiches, including Shrimp Po’Boys, Lobster Po’Boys, Oyster Po’Boys, and a Pittsburgh Hot Chicken sandwich.
The restaurant also offers a selection of barbecue favorites, like pulled pork and a 19-hour slow-smoked brisket. Other entrees on the menu are Chicken & Waffles, BBQ Meatloaf, Shrimp & Grits, Ettouffe, and Jambalaya.
Weekend brunch options will include Biscuits with Country Sausage Gravy, St. Louis Ribs, and Fried Catfish.
The restaurant features two main dining rooms, an outdoor patio, and a full bar.
Sugar and Smoke will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
