Downtown Pittsburgh diners now have another option for lunch and dinner.
Pittsburgh Poke quietly opened on Monday just off of Market Square, offering create-your-own poke bowls and sushi burritos. Poke is a raw fish salad, very similar to ceviche, and is typically made with raw tuna or salmon.
The menu offers completely customizable bowls and sushi burritos, with guests starting their selection with a base (white rice, mixed greens, quinoa, or brown rice). Then, they’ll add your choice of proteins (tuna, tofu, salmon, seared tuna, grilled chicken, seared salmon, spicy tuna, shrimp or Kani salad) and mix-ins (onion, jalapeno, avocado, sweet corn, cucumber, mango, blanched kale, carrot, radish, red cabbage and cilantro). Everything is tossed with a sauce (spicy miso, sweet wasabi, citrus Ponzu, ginger sesame, house poke, spicy mayo or unagi, an eel sauce) and toppings are added, which range from pickled ginger and nori flake to edamame and seaweed salad.
The restaurant also offers their own house-selected bowls and burritos, grab-and-go sushi, and a hot food bar with a variety of Thai dishes.
Pittsburgh Poke is open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
