One of the best things about living in Western Pennsylvania is that we live so close to the picturesque farmland that produces so much of the food we eat.

Pittsburgh Magazine’s Farm Dinner on the Turner Family Farm will be held on Saturday, August 9, and they still have a few tickets left.
The farm dinner will feature appetizers, drinks, and a three-course meal prepared by Six Penn Kitchen’s Chef Cory Hughes.
The menu, featuring locally-sourced meat, produce and dairy, looks amazing:
Passed Appetizers:
- Cornmilk Shooters
- Sweat Pea Mousse on Crostini
- Peach Gazpacho Shooters
- Pairing: Troeg’s Dreamweaver Wheat, Lamberti & Prosecco, Vento, Italy, N.V
1st Course:
- Caprese Salad made with fresh Mozzarella from Turner Dairy Milk
- Pork & Cherry Terrine
- Baby Arugula and Petite Kale & Salad with stone fruit, local Bleu Cheese Souffle
- Pairing: White Wine & Dry Rose (Ch de Campuget Rose)
2nd Course:
- Jamison Farms Lamb Rosemary Gastrique
- Gerber Farms Chicken Thyme Jus
- Keystone Farms Beef Brisket with Stone Fruit BBQ
- Sides: Local Creamed Corn, Summer Vegetables, Braised Greens
- Pairing: East End Pedal Pale Ale & Damiliano, Nebbiolo, “Marghe” Piedmont, Italy, 2010
3rd Course:
- Panna Cotta (made with Turner Dairy Milk) with Macerated Stone Fruits
- McConnel’s Farm Peach Cobbler
- Pairing: Sparkling Demi-Sec/Cold Press Coffee

And the best part? All of the proceeds benefit the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation Free Care Fund. Now there’s no excuse not to go.
