Pittsburgh’s first rolled ice cream shop, NatuRoll Creamery, has expanded to a second location in Cranberry Township.
This new location will offer the same specialty ice-cream creations that Pittsburgh has come to love in Lawrenceville, now in the North Hills area.
Rolled ice cream is a technique that developed in Thailand, and has become popular in countries around the world. The process involves spreading a cream base, mixed with toppings like fruit and cookies, on to a freezing cold anti-griddle, and manipulating the ice cream into rolls.
Customers can design their own rolls, or choose from NatuRoll’s creation suggestions.
Popular creations offered by NatuRoll include “Cookie Monster” with dark chocolate shavings, chocolate sauce, with crushed oreo rolled in, and “Cupcake,” with crushed Nilla wafers with vanilla icing mixed with rainbow sprinkles.
NatuRoll also offers vegan and dairy free options.
The new shop is located at 20550 Route 19 in Cranberry Township, near the Domenico’s, and the Comtra Theatre.
