If you’ve been missing Morcilla, you’re in luck – the restaurant is re-opening a little earlier than they originally thought.
After temporarily closing in January due to flooding on the floor above the dining room, owner Justin Severino said last month that Morcilla would begin service again on April 4.
But, in a bit of good news for fans of the Spanish-style Lawrenceville spot, Morcilla announced yesterday that it would be ready to open a full week earlier than anticipated, on Wednesday, March 28 (and reservations are still available for opening night!).
The restaurant will initially be open Wednesdays through Sundays, with Monday service resuming in May.
Severino told the Incline in February that the flood, caused by a burst pipe, caused an estimated $500,000 in damages and lost revenue. But, with the time off, he and his team were able to make changes to their already-stellar charcuterie program.
Reservations are also open for a few upcoming events, including the April 23 Cure’ated Dinner Series with Boston’s Jamie Bissonnette of Toro, Coppa and Little Donkey, and reservations will be open for the restaurant’s May 7 Cure’ated Dinner Series featuring author Jeff Weiss on April 6.Â
