Christmas has come a little early this year!
Macaron Bar has officially opened their flagship kitchen storefront in East Liberty, in the historic Liberty Bank Building on Penn Avenue. The retail shop and kitchen is Macaron Bar’s second location in Pittsburgh, after opening a macaron kiosk inside Ross Park Mall last year.
This new East Liberty location will feature a grab-and-go macaron bar, ice cream macaron sandwiches with ice cream from Millie’s Homemade, and a full-service coffee bar from Lancaster-based Passenger Coffee.
Plus, as co-owner Michael Shem Wagner told us back in June, they’ll also be utilizing their in-house kitchen to host macaron baking and pairing classes with beer, wine, coffee and more. Wile most of the classes will be open to the public, the space can be rented for private events, bachelorette parties, and birthday parties.
“We are going to try do as many activities as we can,” Wagner told us.
More than a dozen macaron flavors will be available at the shop each day, including core offerings like Birthday Cake, Coffee, Earl Grey Tea, Pistachio, Red Velvet, Salted Caramel, and Madagascar Vanilla, and seasonal flavors – those include Gingerbread, Eggnog, and Peppermint right now.
Macaron Bar first opened in Cincinnati four years ago, and also has locations in Indianapolis and Louisville.
