In the aftermath of the tragic shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue on October 27, Squirrel Hill bars Independent Brewing Company and Hidden Harbor have been hosting a weeklong fundraiser, donating $1 from every food and beverage sale directly to Tree of Life.
Continuing their efforts, they will be hosting another fundraising event on Monday, November 5, at their sister-bar, Lorelei, in East Liberty.
On the Lorelei Instagram, the Independent/Hidden Harbor team announced that, “Almost immediately upon announcing the fundraiser, we were overwhelmed with offers from local brewers and cider-makers to generously donate kegs to help with the efforts. There was so much interest that it justified an event in and of itself, in a space that can accommodate it.”
The fundraiser is dubbed “The Community Pour,” and will feature a 16-tap takeover. Every beer and cider will be sold for $6 per pint, with 100% of sales of each going to the Tree of Life synagogue.
The event will feature kegs donated by:
Arsenal Cider
Brew Gentlemen
Butler Brew Works
Cinderlands Beer
Dancing Gnome Brewery
East End Brewing
Elk Creek Cafe
Graft Cider
Girst House Brewery
Helltown Brewing
Hitchhiker Brewing
Levity Brewing
Reissdorf
Roundabout Brewery
Spoonwood Brewing
Threadbare Cider
The event begins at 5 p.m. and will continue until all of the beer is gone.
More information can be found online.
