Get local this week at Kaya.
The Strip District mainstay is hosting a vegetarian prix fixe dinner on Wednesday, October 19, featuring fresh vegetables and beans from the South Hills’ Churchview Farm.
Churchview will be providing ingredients from its more than 250 varieties of heirloom produce, including sprouting broccoli, Hakurei turnips, and beets.
The full menu is below:
First
- Green Tomato Carpaccio: Garlic, lemon aioli, pepper relish, arugula, crispy goat cheese, basil
- Roasted Beets: Horseradish-lime vinaigrette, radish, cilantro, pepitas
Second
- Grilled Heirloom Beans: Quail eggs, crispy garlic, chanterelle mushrooms, spicy peppers
- Potato & Leek Puree: Chanterelle mushrooms, mizuna
Third
- Roasted Hakurei Turnips: Sherry vinegar, parsley, couscous, rapini, fennel, sundried tomatoes
- Sprouting Broccoli: Chanterelle mushrooms, rice cakes, red chili, fermented black beans, basil
Dessert
- Roasted Pumpkin Mousse: Cinnamon crumble, candied pepitas, whipped cream, roasted pears
- PB&J: Peanut butter cookies, concord grape sorbet
- Chocolates from Mon Aimee
Seats are $39 per person, with a $19 option drink pairing. Kaya hosts a vegetarian prix-fixe on the third Wednesday of every month, and also makes their full menu available.
