Calling all ice cream fans! Just in time for summer 2019, there is a sweet program you’re going to want to try!
Six popular Pittsburgh ice cream shops have teamed up to create the “Ice Cream Rewards” program.
The program is similar to loyalty rewards cards, but can be used at any participating shop. It encourages participants to go and explore a few of Pittsburgh varied ice cream shops.
“The idea hit me when I lining up this year’s ice cream competition,” says Jacob Hanchar, owner of Klavons. “We collaborate with ice cream shops across the nation, why then aren’t we doing something locally?”
Customers get a stamp for every $10 that they spend. As soon they receive their 10th stamp, they get something for free at any participating shop. For example, if you spend $20 at Betsy’s then $30 at Sugar and Spice and then $40 at Sugar Spells, you would have nine stamps.Â
Examples of the “free rewards” include an adult size sundae at Klavons, and a small sundae at Sugar Spell Scoops.Â
Guests don’t have to visit every location, but it’s certainly more fun (and tasty!) to do so.Â
Participating locations include:
- Any Given Sundae (Wexford)
- NatuRoll Creamery (Lawrenceville and Cranberry)
- Sugar and Spice (Route 51)
- Sugar Spell Scoops (Sharpsburgh)
- Betsy’s Ice Cream (Mt. Lebo)
- Klavon’s (Strip District)
Pick up your card at any participating location.
If you visit any of these locations, we want to see your pictures! Please tag #goodfoodpgh and @goodfoodpgh in all your ice cream pictures!
