The boil is back at Hough’s in Greenfield!
Hough’s, located on Greenfield Ave, is known for their stellar brunches and great beer selection. For the past few years during Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week, Hough’s has hosted an incredibly popular Maryland-style crab boil.
In honor of their August “Brewery of the Month” – Abita Brewing from just outside of New Orleans, Louisiana – Hough’s is mixing it up with a traditional, Louisiana-style crawfish boil.
Hough’s will be serving Abita throughout the month of August. The brewery will get 16 of Hough’s 70+ taps. Included will be some of Abita’s classic brews, and even some of their more interesting beers like “Mint Julep,” and “Old Fashioned.”
Tickets to the Abita Louisiana Crawfish Boil include all you can drink Abita beer.
While this is Hough’s first time doing a crawfish boil, the restaurant is excited to test it out, and invite their customers back for this picnic style meal.
Items on the boil menu include: crawfish, sausage, corn, shrimp, and potatoes. Everything will be cooked in copper beer kettles with Abita beer right in front of the guests. Once the food is ready, it will be dumped out onto a long picnic table, and guests will be able to enjoy a family style buffet.
While the food is certainly a highlight, everyone loves the opportunity to hang out and mingle.
“In the past I’ve gotten to work with my dad and my brother and cousins in matching aprons,” says Matt Hough. “These events are the best time because you really get to interact with the customers. It’s just like an old-fashioned picnic, and everyone gets to hang out, drink, talk, and eat. The whole overall feel is great”
There will be two sessions of the Abita Boil on August 26 from 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. This event will take place rain or shine. Tickets are $60 and include the buffet and all you can drink Abita beer, and can be purchased online.
