Yep, you heard that correctly!
Two Pittsburgh classics are teaming up a for a treat that’s extra sweet.
This holiday season, Klavons Ice Cream Parlor in The Strip is serving up six varieties of ice cream sandwiches – all featuring mini Smiley Cookies from Eat’n Park!
The sandwich will be exclusively sold at Klavons through December 8.
The collaboration is part of Eat’n Park’s annual five-week Caring for Kids campaign, which benefits children’s hospitals across the country.
Caring for Kids began in 1979 from a passionate team member at an Eat’n Park restaurant, and has now grown into a company-wide effort, which raised $445,400 in 2016.
All of the proceeds from the Klavons Smiley Cookie Ice Cream sandwich will be donated to the Caring for Kids campaign.
“I always loved the Smiley Cookie,” says Klavons owner Jacob Hanchar. “I remember my parents going to the Eat’n Park in Altoona and getting the cookies. I was thinking we should do an ice cream sandwich, and this seemed like a great way to kick it off.”
The campaign runs through December 8th this year, which is also the last day you can get your hands on the cookie sandwich.
The flavors include:
– Green Mini Smiley with Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
– Red Mini Smiley with Strawberry Ice Cream
– Orange Mini Smiley with Peach Ice Cream
– Blue Mini Smiley with Blue Monster Ice Cream
– Yellow Mini Smiley with Vanilla or Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream
There is also a special Cam Heyward (of the Pittsburgh Steelers) Smiley Cookie sandwich with a Black and Gold cookie and Banana Ice Cream!
In addition to the sandwiches at Klavons, there are many ways to get involved with the Caring for Kids campaign. More information can be found online.
