That’s a wrap! BrunchBurgh, Good Food Pittsburgh’s first-ever brunch festival, happened this weekend at Hitchhiker Brewing in Sharpsburg, and it. was. awesome.
There were over 17 coffee, tea, and brunch vendors, serving up everything from homemade biscuits and gravy (thanks, Wise County Biscuits!) to cold-pressed juice.
And yes, there was booze – and lots of it.
Pittsburgh Pickle Company served up Bloody Mary’s, made from their brand-new Briny Mary mix, and Maggie’s Farm Rum had rum and coffee cocktails that guests couldn’t get enough of. Hitchhiker Brewing released Triple Shakes, an Imperial Coffee Porter (at 11.5% abv), and served up beermosas to every guest.
Coffee vendors, including Zeke’s Coffee, De Fer Coffee & Tea, Ispirare Coffee, 19 Coffee Company, La Prima Espresso Company and Green Dragon Coffee Roasters (they had a coffee soda drink that’s become our new obsession) handed out samples and chatted with guests about what makes their Pittsburgh-roasted brews so unique. Ultra Matcha, Blume Honey Water, and Pittsburgh Juice Company were also on hand with samples, rounding out the best brunch drink options in town. Plus, Coffee Passport joined us for the fun, with their caffeine-infused passport program.
Hungry guests could enjoy homemade biscuits from Wise County Biscuits, breakfast sandwiches from Pittsburgh Sandwich Society, and all kinds of breakfast burritos from Pittsburgh Burrito Bus, which was parked right outside in Hitchhiker’s brand-new beer garden. Guests raved about the breakfast pizzas from Wood Fired Flatbreads and went through dozens of doughnuts from Just Good Donuts. And, making the event so much sweeter was Paul Family Farms, with tastes of their Potter County-produced maple syrup and local honey.
Local musician Evan Isaac provided live music in the beer garden, and photograph Mitchell Straub took the amazing shots you see above.
If you missed your chance to join us, don’t worry – we’re already planning our next event, which we promise will be just as much fun as this one was!
