Pittsburgh, get ready for a new treat for your sweet tooth.
Duck Donuts, the highly-anticipated made-to-order doughnut shop, has officially opened its doors in Upper St. Clair. This will be the first Pittsburgh location for the franchise, which has other locations throughout the East Coast.
The shop features vanilla cake doughnuts that are fresh-made in front of guests, then hand-dipped in icing, and sprinkled with a selection of customized toppings, from cookie crumbles and fruit syrups to sprinkles and shredded coconut.
Each location includes a waiting area with a window into the kitchen, where guests can watch the doughnut-making process as the doughnut machine cooks and carries each doughnut down the assembly line, where they’re customized with toppings, packaged and served warm.
The franchise is owned by Andrew and Kate Jarusinsky, and is located at the St. Clair retail center, adjacent to the Whole Foods across from the South Hills Village Mall.
The Pittsburgh location also features breakfast sandwiches, coffee, tea, juice, hot chocolate and doughnut sundaes.
Duck Donuts will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Sunday and Monday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
