Changes are coming to East Liberty.
Starting today, Bar Frenchman, the downstairs sister restaurant to The Twisted Frenchman, will be rebranded as La Riviera Bistro, with a more casual menu that includes inspiration from French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Mediterranean flavors.
Owner Andrew Garbarino told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that the change came about because many guests would book reservations to Bar Frenchman under the mistaken assumption that it was fine dining, like the upstairs Twisted Frenchman.
La Riviera’s menu will include a wide selection of appetizers and snacks (including Foie Gras, Baked Raclette, and a cheese plate with a selection of French cheeses), venison, beef, tuna and vegetable tartare, and classic bistro steak frites.
The cocktail menu remains strong, with a summer menu that pays tribute to the rainbow, including the Red (Del Maguet Vida Mezcal, Cappelletti aperitvo, Bauchant orange liqueur, lime, hibiscus and beet), Yellow (Art in the Age Sage liqueur, Salers aperitif, Yellow Chartreuse, Laphroaig 10, salt and pepper and grapefruit bitter) and Indigo (Copper and King’s Immature brandy, blue curaçao, Chambord liqueur and lemon).
On Monday, July 2, La Riviera will be hosting a grand opening celebration, with 20% off every guest check.
