A Taste of Art, the culinary student-run restaurant located in the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, will be back open this Tuesday with a brand-new menu.
This semester, the students are tackling low country cuisine, that spot in the food world that encompasses everything from Charleston, South Carolina to Brunswick, Georgia.
A few of the menu selections:
- Southern Fried Chicken Sandwiches, with apple-pecan conserve, cole slaw and whole wheat macaroni salad
- Charleston Shrimp & Grits, with Andouille sausage, peppers, and cheddar cheese
- Savannah White Bean Salad
- Vegetarian Muffuletta, with grilled vegetables, olive-artichoke heart relish, mozzarella, and provolone cheeses on Focaccia
- Seared Sea Bass with Black-Eyed Pea Ragout
- Pumpkin Mousse Ginger Bread Truffle
- Chocolate Layer Truffle Cheesecake
The restaurant reopens on Tuesday, and will then resume its regular weekly hours of Monday (11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.), Tuesday (11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and Wednesday (11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.). Reservations are suggested, and can be made by calling 412-291-6532.
And the best part? Everything on the menu is under $8.
