There are some really cool things happening behind the scenes at Pittsburgh restaurants – you just have to know where to look to find out what’s going on. Each of these restaurants (and bakeries and candy-makers and bars) give us a peek at what makes their business so unique through their Instagram feeds. From bread-making secrets courtesy of Mediterral Bakehouse to tropical musings from Hidden Harbor, these 24 Pittsburgh restaurants definitely deserve a follow.
1. Madeleine Bakery & Bistro
It’s no secret – we’re obsessed with Madeleine Bakery & Bistro’s chocolate chip cookies. Their feed regularly shares drool-worthy shots of these chocolate-y dreams, along with news about bakery specials and new menu additions (hello, brand new peanut butter bar!).
2. Federal Galley
As annoying as the term ‘food porn’ is, there’s really no other way to describe Federal Galley’s seriously delicious feed. Follow for shots from their four restaurant concepts, with regular updates on new food and drink specials.
3. Smallman Galley
While you’re following Federal Galley, you should go ahead and give a follow to their sister restaurant incubator, Smallman Galley, too. Over on this feed, you’ll see shots highlighting dishes from Smallman’s four restaurant concepts, including the brand-new Home, which hasn’t been slacking in their own ‘gramming game.
4. Millie’s Homemade
This scoop shop (with locations in Shadyside and downtown) knows a thing or two about perfectly-styled ice cream cones. Follow along for new flavor announcements, new produce alerts (vegan shakes are coming soon, y’all!), and updates on where their new Millie’s ice cream truck happens to be.
5. Hidden Harbor
Follow this feed for a taste of tropical paradise. Hidden Harbor’s bright, beautiful cocktail menu provides lots of gorgeous photos for scrolling through, but they also update the page with special events, restaurant news and their weekly Tiki Time Machine cocktails, a special menu of classic tiki drinks that are available every Tuesday night.
6. Mediterra Bakehouse
Who knew bread could be so beautiful? While there are some shots of the new Mediterra Cafe in Sewickley, most of this feed is dedicated to the art of baking, showing unbelievable gorgeous croissants, loaves, and bagels, and more. We’re officially in love.
7. Baby Loves Tacos
What Bloomfield’s Baby Loves Tacos lacks in, er, photographic ability, they more than make up for in culinary ability. So while you may not scroll this feed for gorgeous taco shots (though they are there!), you’re going to want to give them a follow strictly for their daily updates on when the shop is open – and when they run out of food each day.
8. Burgatory Bar
Between their BOD (burger of the day) and a new shake every weekend, you never know what surprise you’re going to find on Burgatory Bar’s feed. Because trust us – do you want to be the person who misses their Bourbon-spiked Maple Bacon Doughnut Shakes? We think not.
9. Cocoa Bake Shop
We can’t get enough of Chanel Nardone’s Cocoa Bakeshop, her online-only bakery that produces some of the prettiest cookies, cupcakes and brownies around. Not only are her sugar cookies mini works of art, but they’re also pretty tasty, too.
10. Driftwood Oven
What’s cooking at Driftwood Oven? Follow their feed to find out. From pizza specials to new menu additions, this Lawrenceville pizzeria keeps their feed updated daily with news about what’s happening in the shop. Plus, it’s a good way to find out when their hard-to-get sourdough loaves are available.
11. Relish
Oh hello, brightly-colored doughnuts. You never know what fun new treat you’re going to find on Relish’s feed, from crunchy Fried Seitan Sandwiches to Rosemary Olive Oil Bundt Cakes. It’s always a surprise, always really interesting – and always vegan.
12. Union Standard
New menu items, from brunch dishes to experimental cocktails, rule the feed from Union Standard. Follow along so you don’t miss an awesome dish only available for a limited time, like chilled strawberry soup with habanero yogurt.
13. Pork & Beans
Pork & Beans has got the meat – and they love to show it off on their feed. They also keep their page updated with their newest cocktail creations and special additions to the menu, like Soft Shell Crab Sandwiches, Berry Bread Pudding, and Smoked Shrimp Cocktail.

Known for one of the coolest cocktail programs in the city, Mixtape shares their new drink menu on their feed before they put it anywhere else.
16. Pear and the Pickle Cafe
Sun-drenched glamour shots of breakfast sandwiches? Check. Pear & the Pickle Cafe in Troy Hill doesn’t regularly offer specials or new menu items, but they keep their feed filled with beauty shots of their classic egg-and-sausage sammies, hoagies, and other breakfast and lunch favorites. Plus, you’ll find announcements for special events, like their monthly Burger Nights.
17. Just Good Donuts
If you’re wondering what new delicious doughnut creation will be on the menu at Just Good Donuts, look no further than their Instagram feed. They’re always introducing new flavors (like the ‘Chocolate Wasted’) and bringing back old favorites, like their Coffee Cake doughnuts.
18. Ki Ramen
There’s always some kind of new dish on the menu at Ki Ramen, from Chocolate Ice Cream Bao Sandwiches to Soup Dumplings, and you never know what you’re going to get… unless you check their Insta feed, of course. If you want to know where Wise County Biscuits is going to be every week (and trust us, you definitely want to know), follow their Instagram account. And, if you just want to see mouth-watering shots of fresh-made biscuits and other Southern goodness… well, you know what to do.

This Seven Fields bakery will give you serious sweets envy. From adorably-decorated cupcakes to Pinterest-perfect wedding cakes, scrolling through this feed will immediately make you want to plan a celebration.
22. Bitter Ends Garden & Luncheonette
You’ll see pics from their Verona farm as well as pics from the Bloomfield lunch counter on Bitter Ends Garden & Luncheonette’s feed. Check it to see what’s new on their ever-changing menu, from new doughnut flavors to their latest sandwich options. Plus, lots of cute farm dog photos, too.

a519 Chocolate’s Amanda Wright makes chocolates that taste as good as they look… and with an Instagram feed this beautiful, that’s saying a lot. Follow for new flavor announcements, and sneak peeks of specialty orders.
24. Round Corner Cantina
You’ll feel as if you’re taking a trip to Mexico by scrolling through Round Corner Cantina’s feed – but nope, everything you see comes from right here in the ‘Burgh. The Lawrenceville cantina shares bright, colorful pics of their tacos, cocktails, and margaritas.
