From a Groundhogapalooza to a fermentation festival, these are all of the food events to put on your calendar this month.
Friday, February 2
Groundhogapalooza at Harris Grill
Harris Grill is celebrating all things groundhog on this Groundhog’s Day at their Groundhogapalooza. They transform their front patio into a winter wonderland, complete with an ice bar and drink specials all night.
Saturday, February 3
Imbibe North Side
The Mattress Factory and War Streets Brewery are teaming up for the third annual Imbibe North Side. Guests can sip brew samples from Spring Hill Brewery, Southern Tier Brewing Company, Penn Brewery, Threadbare Cider and Mead, Pittsburgh Winery and more. Plus, there will be live music from bluegrass band Shelf Life String Band, art installation exhibits, and food trucks on site. Tickets are $0 in advance and $50 at the door, and can be purchased online.
Bread Making Class at Gaynor’s School of Cooking
Bread Making is the first of many cooking classes at Gaynor’s School of Cooking in February. Other classes include Cajun Soul Food, Pierogie Making, Foods of Brazil, Italian Dessert Class, and many more. Gaynor’s is located on the South Side. A full schedule can be viewed online.

Yoga + Cider at Threadbare Cider
Enjoy a yoga class in Threadbare Cider’s cider cellar. Each ticket includes a class with an instructor from Green Heiress Holistic Health, plus a glass of cider after class. Tickets are $12 each.
Saturday, February 8
Patagonia Pittsburgh Grand Opening Party
The new Pittsburgh Patagonia store, located on Walnut Street in Shadyside is celebration their opening with a party. Food and refreshments will be provided by Franktuary, Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream, and Grist House Brewery. The event is in partner with Sustainable Pittsburgh, and $5 donation to the group gets you a speciality pint cup and pours.

Candles and Cookies at The Candle Lab
Learn the basics of cookie decorating, and make your own candle during this collaboration event with The Crazy Cookie Lady and The Candle Lab. Tickets are $50 per person.
Saturday, February 10
Wigle’s Spicy Soiree
On Saturday, February 10 and Sunday, February 11, head to Wigle Whiskey for their annual release of Afterglow Roasted Ginger Whiskey. On Saturday, Wise County Biscuits and Relish will be serving ginger dishes, and on Sunday, Wise County Biscuits will be joined by Edward Marc Chocolatier with tasty treats. Plus there will be plenty of Wigle cocktails and samples, too. The event is free to attend, and all food and drink is pay-as-you-go.
“Rhapsody in Brew” Home Brew Competition
Stop by the Union Project on February 10 to attend a home brew beer competition. Local brewers will compete for “homebrew superiority” and food trucks will on site. This is a 21+ event, and benefits the Edgewood Symphony. Tickets can be purchased online.

Galentine’s Day Cooking Class at IKEA
Head to the restaurant on the second floor of IKEA with your best friend on February 13th for a fondue making class. This is a free event for the first 10 couples that RSVP online.
Galentine’s Day at the Gluten Free Goat
Have fun at the Gluten Free Goat this Galentine’s Day with cookies decorating, tasty snacks, wine, great music, and other fun crafts. As always, everything will be gluten-free, vegan (dairy-free, egg-free, honey-free), soy-free, and corn-free! Tickets can be purchased online.

Flight Night with a519 Chocolate at Bierport
Bierport and a519 Chocolate are teaming up for a Chocolate & Beer Pairing Night on Valentine’s Day. There are two sessions available, at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $18 per person, and include a four-beer flight and four chocolates.

History Uncorked: Roaring 20s at Heinz History Center
Enjoy sparkling spirits at the 20th annual History Uncorked. The event will feature a silent auction, food from Pittsburgh eateries, Wigle Whiskey and Penn Brewery drinks, and more. Tickets are $65 general admission, and $11o for VIP admission. For more information, visit the event page.
Harry Potter Film & Cultural Festival at Row House Cinema
For 13 days, from February 16 through February 28, enjoy tons of Harry Potter events at Row House Cinema, from film screenings to trivia nights. Plus, during the duration of the festival, Bierport is transforming its basement into The Leaky Cauldron, featuring “adult” butterbeer and non-aloholic butterbeer sodas.

Penn Brew U 101
If you’ve ever wanted to learn anything about beer, here’s your chance. Penn Brewery is offering a three-hour course, designed to give students the basics of craft beer. The event includes a beer-themed buffet lunch, and lots of samples. Tickets are $53 and available online.
Sunday, February 18
Pittsburgh Fermentation Festival at Spirit
The third annual Pittsburgh Fermentation Festival is happening at Spirit, featuring lots of small-business fermenters, hands-on activities, a ‘Fermenters Olympics Competition,’ and more. The event is free to attend.
Sunday Funday Brunch at Piazza Talarico
Lawrenceville’s Piazza Talarico is serving brunch on Sunday, February 18. They’ll be open from 10AM to 2PM, featuring Italian-inspired brunch dishes like Cannoli Crepes with Nutella and Breakfast Risotto. See more on the event page.

Eat. Drink. Pittsburgh. at Rivers Casino

Pittsburgh Winter Beerfest
One of Pittsburgh’s favorite beer fests is back at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Over two days, guests can sample more than 400 different craft beers from breweries across the country.
