Peanut Butter Burger from Chip & Kale
Pittsburgh’s plant-based meal kit service, Chip & Kale is making vegan-eating a whole lot easier in the city of Pittsburgh… and the entire country! Chip & Kale ships their weekly meal plans across the lower 48 states, and deliveries within a 20 mile radius of Pittsburgh. The meal plans change weekly, but one customer favorite is the “Peanut Butter Burger,” which tastes as good as it looks. (vegan) Chip & Kale
Vegan Sausage Special at Lili Cafe
Lili Cafe is a funky vegan and vegetarian coffee shop in Polish Hill. While their menu is stacked with tons of delicious vegan and vegetarian treats, one customer favorite is the mouth-watering Vegan Sausage Special. This vegan sausage is topped with onion, avocado, cilantro spread, pickled jalapeños, and tomatoes, and is served on a baguette! Jerky Jack at Square Cafe
Square Cafe has one of the most popular vegan menus in Pittsburgh, and its new summer dishes include something special – the “Jerky Jack.” This sandwich mimics pulled pork, but is made with jerked jackfruit, lettuce and pickles, and served on grilled ciabatta. Mediterranean Vegan Burger at Piper’s Pub
Piper’s Pub is happy to substitute their vegan patty on any of their six burger options, as well as include it as part of their “build your own burger” menu. One customer favorite is their Mediterranean Vegan Burger. Veggie Burger at Benjamin’s Western Ave Burger Bar
What can be said about the vegetarian burgers at Benjamin’s? Options, options, options! Substitute a veggie patty on any of their custom burger creations. This means toppings like apple & goat cheese, truffle mustard & red wine braised onions, and candied jalapeno cream cheese are waiting for you to devour. Veggie Burger at Randita’s Organic Vegan Cafe
Make-your-own vegan dream burger at Randita’s Organic Cafe in Aspinwall, PA. Randita’s is serving up a house-made grain and bean burger, topped with lettuce and served on either a whole wheat bun, or wrapped in a brown rice tortilla. Guests can add toppings like coleslaw, tomato “cheese,” sautéed mushrooms, and fresh spinach. Sauce available include vegenaise, mustard, ketchup, 1000 island, lemon-tahini and more. Spak Brothers is taking seitan to the next level. If you’re missing your classic Pittsburgh cheese-steak (like a Philly cheesesteak, but from Pittsburgh, so it’s better), look no further than Spak Brothers on Penn Avenue in Garfield. Truck-Made Veggie Burger from the Pittsburgh Sandwich Society
You’ll have to keep your eyes peeled when traveling around the city of Pittsburgh to find this elusive, but tasty veggie burger. One of Pittsburgh’s favorite food trucks, the Pittsburgh Sandwich Society, makes a veggie burger worth seeking out. Their truck-made veggie patty is topped with cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, spring mix, tomato, and aioli, all piled a whole wheat brioche bun. PGH Sandwich Society (various locations)
The Sante Fe Hippie at BRGR
Peace, love, and this burger from one of Pittsburgh’s favorite burger joints, BRGR. This flavorful black bean, corn, and falafel patty is topped with tomato, guacamole, shredded lettuce, pepperjack cheese, cilantro, and lime creme fraiche. Pair it with a cookie dough milkshake, and fries with truffle cheese-whiz for the ultimate BRGR experience. BRGR (various locations)
The McMaiden Sandwich at Onion Maiden
Onion Maiden in Allentown is serving up vegan, punk-rock inspired dishes that you have to taste to believe. One sandwich worth seeking out is their namesake McMaiden Sandwich, served with smoked maple shitake, cashew, cheese, tomato, and a chickpea (egg), served on a house-made English muffin. I follow the Pittsburgh Sandwich Society to get their Veggie Burger! It is so scrumptious! Best Veggie Burger I have tried and from a food truck! They have other sandwiches that are so delicious too! Go find that yellow with black trim on it and order yourself an amazing Sandwich and fries😍😍😀
